KAZERNE LAB
Within Kazerne Lab, professional creatives work cross-over with other (economic) sectors to develop products, insights, and incentives for topical issues. With their fresh perspective and outlook, they provide current social, cultural and economic issues with inspiration, new perspectives, and answers. That may sound rather pompous, but it is, in fact, an extremely practical process.
The Lab is not a physical workplace but a project that is worked on within the heads and studios of the participating designers.

The social design Lab explores the open question of how designers can contribute to a more liveable world of tomorrow.
INVENTORY LAB
In the inventory Lab, designers work with regional manufacturing industries on creating innovative inventory for hospitality ends.

Custom Light installations
Together with Cleary Led, Ontwerpduo designed an innovative lighting line consisting of graphic shapes that can be both custom made as well as be applied in a series. The basis products square, triangle, line, circle and zigzag can be combined and expanded indefinitely. This seems to be a success: the new brand Aptum brings in a lot of new business and is popular with both the consumer market as well as (interior) architects on an international level. For example, big Aptum lighting systems are installed in the TQ-building in Eindhoven and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. The lighting is being sold via the designers.
Kazerne Social Design Lab
Thanks to Metropool Regio Eindhoven, designers and other creatives collaborate in innovative cross-overs, they expand their insights in the added value of expertise and an inventory is gained, developed and shown in innovative ways.
