-Expo Kazerne Design Award 2021

A birthmark here, some wrinkles there; a family may resemble one another, but each individual is different. Benjamin Motoc used other than standard materials for his industrial moulds, and developed a production line that produces series, yet generates a unique outcome with each casting. His sculptural furniture tells the story of their evolution and prompts to rethink current mass production.

Growth

-Expo Impromptu

Benjamin Motoc developed a production line that mirrors mass manufacturing, but generates a unique outcome with each casting. Molten wax is poured into an ice mould, simultaneously taking its shape and deforming it. These stools tell the story of their evolution and prompt us to rethink the manufacturing systems of today.

Kron, Syull and Ktus

-Expo Circular Materialists

Strange cavernous spaces tell the story of a choreography between the manipulated materials of water and wax. When the wax is replaced by bronze and aluminium, Kron, Syull and Ktus become depictions of delicate yet imperishable details that visualize the process of metal casting.
