Met 2000m2 recent werk van zowel startende als gevestigde ontwerpers, labels en producenten (zoals Lidewij Edelkoort, Miles Le Gras, Ori Orisun Merhav, VanTot) staat Home of Design Kazerne boordevol toonaangevend design. De tentoonstellingen gaan in première tijdens DDW 2023.

KAZERNE CALLING
Kunst en design hebben misschien wel meer dan ooit de opdracht om te verbinden en alternatieve scenario’s voor te stellen. Via het tentoongestelde werk roept Home of Design Kazerne op om vanuit verschillende perspectieven en specialismen samen te werken om hoopvolle voorbeelden te creëren.
Art and design have – now maybe more than ever – the mission to connect and to propose alternative scenario’s. Via the work of the participants, Home of Design Kazerne calls for cooperation from and between different perspectives and specialisms to create hopeful examples.

Evolving Harmony – intertwining hope and design

De transformatie van een parasiterende naar een duurzame samenleving is ontzaglijk complex.
In de tentoonstelling Evolving Harmony verbindt Kazerne hoop en ontwerpkracht in de uitdaging zo min mogelijk schade toe te brengen. Met nadruk op verantwoord gebruik van grondstoffen is er aandacht voor de verstrengeling van alles en iedereen, oude ambachten, parallelle perspectieven en snelheden.
The transformation from a parasitic into a sustainable society is extremely complex. In the exhibition Evolving Harmony, Kazerne connects hope and the power of design in the challenge of causing as little damage as possible. With an emphasis on responsible use of raw materials, attention is paid to the entanglement of everything and everyone, ancient crafts, parallel perspectives and pace.

Te midden van voortdurende oorlog, verspilling, klimaatcrisis en de opmars van AI, worden we geconfronteerd met een grimmige realiteit. Om te overleven en de schoonheid van het leven te herontdekken, zoeken we troost in de oprechte uitdrukkingen van provinciale meester-ambachtslieden.
Amid ongoing war, waste, climate crisis, and AI’s ascendancy, we face a grim reality. To endure and rediscover life’s beauty, we seek solace in the heartfelt expressions of provincial master artisans.
