The Happy Misfits are made from polystyrene. A balloon is filled with styrofoam and an epoxy hardener, then it is pulled over a chair with tensioning straps. Once the foam has hardened, the balloon is fixed in the form of the chair, which is then finished with a soft rubber layer.
